The "PS Melt Prevention Agent" is applied to the sides of the pantograph sliding plate to prevent accidents caused by arcing due to frost on the trolley wire during winter, which can lead to melting of the sliding plate. It reacts with moisture in the air and hardens at room temperature to become rubber-like, protecting the sides of the sliding plate.
